Schools are
ideal for dances because the halls, kitchens, toilets and access are
usually just right for everyone. Car parking is not usually a problem
either. The licenses for music and alcohol have to be in place long
before the event. Some schools have permanent licenses but the others
will have to apply in good time. To overcome the need for a drinks
license, schools have in the past included "bring your own bottle" on
the tickets.
Each venue has its own acoustics and ambiance, so we have powerful
enough amplification for most medium to large rooms.
Dances can be kept at the simple end of the scale, but part of the
enjoyment is doing something different. You will definitely get Strip
the Willow as well as the long ways, circle and square dances.
The jury is out on whether children are a good thing at PTA dances.
If the kids understand that running in and out of dances is likely to
get them hurt, then they should be able to be safe. Our caller will help
them out without slowing the whole dance down. When there are a number
of children at an event, the night can peter out as their parents take
them home before the end. Organisers should cater for this by having an
early finish to accommodate parents. Also, school caretakers like to get
home early as well.
If you need tickets and posters printing, we have the required
facilities. Give us a ring and we will gladly assist you.
